World’s Heaviest Bench Press

The current world bench press champion is Ryan Kennelly, who pressed 1075 lbs (487.6 kg) in November 8, 2008. He has gradually improved his world best mark after beating the previous holder of the record Gene Rychlak Jr who pressed 1010 lbs (458.1 kg) in 2006.


Ryan is 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 meters) tall, which makes him one of the tallest bench press specialists. While in active competition, he weights between 290-345 pounds (131-154 kg) meaning he can bench press more than 3 times his weight.
