World’s biggest gold coin was crafted by the Perth Minth, a company from Australia that manufactures coins. The coin weights one tonne, and is 31 inches (80 cm) in diameter and nearly 5 inches (12 cm) deep. It is made up of 99.9 percent pure gold, and has a legal tender value of $1 million AU.
The coin’s record was confirmed by a Guinness World Records committee, and was crafted to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Australian Kangaroo Gold Coin program. The Australian-made coin is currently on a three-week tour around Europe.
