The largest poster is 3,234.31 m² (34,814.19 ft²) and was achieved by Team Akshay (India) and manufactured by Macro Art Ltd (UK). It was unveiled at Little Gransden Airfield, Cambridgeshire, UK, on 3 October 2013.
The poster measures 58.87 m (193 ft 1 in) wide and 54.94 m (180 ft 2 in) high. The poster is to advertise the release of the Bollywood movie “Boss” in Mumbai and Delhi. It is made out of mesh PVC and took 30 hours to print. It weighs about 1.4 metric tonnes (3,086 lb) and requires a team of at least 10 people to unravel.
The official certification for the same was done in the UK itself and the ‘Boss’ poster also finds a mention on the official Guinness website. The comedy caper, directed by Anthony D’Souza, also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Danny Denzongpa, Aditi Rao Hydari and Parikshit Sahni in pivotal roles. “Boss” was slated to hit theaters on October 16.
Reacting to the development, Akshay Kumar said, “It’s a matter of honor. I thank everyone who made this possible.”
Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ held the previous Guinness World Record for being the largest poster in the world.
